The 2020 Meaford Farmers Market will look a little different. This year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and new restrictions in place by the Provincial Government. The Grey Bruce Health Unit has put it place a guide to hosting a pick up format for Farmers Market. With direction from Dr. Ian Arra and GBHU Meaford Farmers Market has been approved to open there pick up location. The health and safety of our vendors, customers, and community is of the utmost importance. We have designed a format to accommodate all vendors and all of our customers. Using our new website www.meafordfarmersmarket.ca customers can contact our vendors talk about there products, place an order and make a payment all from the comfort of there own home. The website will provide all information including each vendor’s products and an explanation of there business.
The Pick up location will be held at the Market Square every Friday from 3pm-6pm starting Friday June 12. Volunteers from the Market Board and the community will be receiving orders from our vendors and then distributing them to the customers. Volunteers will be using sanitation techniques to clean frequently touched areas. Customers will be expected to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet well in line. Drive up orders will be excepted as well.
It is our goal as the Meaford Farmers Market to provide the community with an opportunity to continue the market despite such unprecedented times. Meaford Farmers Market was awarded a $1000 grant from the Blue Mountain Village Association Accelerated Spring Grant Program. This was used to fund our new website. This will guarantee Meaford Farmers Market 2021 season.
This year we are proud to offer a variety of different vendors; Pure Music Garlic, FedFarm, Gillyflower, Lena Landei Country Culture, Sunnyside Honey and Avalon Soap Company. We will be adding more vendors as they come. Any vendors interested in participating should contact The Meaford Farmers Market for more details.
