Police are appealing for help locating a missing man in the Mono area. On the night of June 8th, Grey Highlands OPP received a report of a missing person, 24-year-old Douglas Ardis of Grey Highlands who was last seen June 6th around 9 a.m. on Side Road 30 in Mono. He is described as 5’8″, 195 lbs with short, light brown hair that is pulled back on top. He has hazel eyes and wears prescription glasses. Douglas was last seen wearing a dark blue baseball cap, brown blundstone work boots and blue jeans and may have been wearing a dark Tough Duck jacket. Members of the Marine Patrol attached to the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol aboard the OPP patrol Vessel Thomas P. Coffin over the weekend of June 8th to 10th and stopped and checked 62 vessels during their 29 hours of patrol resulting in twelve charges under the Canada Shipping act. Officers remind all vessel operators that they are checking for vessel equipment and for liquor offences which they are vigorously enforcing in an effort to reduce injuries and fatalities on area waterways this summer. Baseball action… Jake Bauers hit his first career home run to put Tampa Bay ahead in the fourth in-ning and the Rays went on to an 8-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays last night.
Elsewhere, the Chicago Cubs beat Milwaukee 7-2 and jump into first place in the NL Central.
Boston blanked Baltimore 2-0.
And Cleveland beat the Chicago White Sox 4-0.
