‘Joker’ Narrowly Holds Off ‘Maleficent’ to Return to the Weekend’s Top Spot: Based on estimates ‘Joker’ was able to return to the weekend #1 spot after a brief respite last weekend as ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ fell to second place. Meanwhile, it was an equally tight race for third as well as fifth with the new releases of ‘Countdown’ and ‘Black and Blue’ competed for that last spot in the top five. ‘Joker’ entered its fourth week in release with an estimated $18.9 million three-day haul. The film’s domestic take now tops $277.5 million.

Jane Fonda Accepts BAFTA Award as She’s Arrested: Jane Fonda is taking multi-tasking to new heights. The “Grace and Frankie” star wasn’t in attendance at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday night to accept the Stanley Kubrick Award for Excellence in Film because, earlier in the day, she was arrested in Washington, D.C. during a climate change protest. But handcuffs and a police escort didn’t stop her from accepting her award.
