Toronto Maple Leafs Not Renewing Andy Frost’s Contract

Yesterday, the very familiar voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs at ACC announced he will no longer be the one announcing the starting lineup, goals penalties etc. Andy Frost has been the P.A. announcer for Leafs’ home games since 1999. He was told yesterday by Leafs’ president Brendan Shanahan that he was not being fired just that his contract will not be renewed. Frost replaced Paul Morris who who was the Leaf’s announcer from 1961 to the end of the 1998-1999 season.

So far there is no mention of his replacement.

Frost made the announcement via Twitter.

“After 17 yrs & roughly 700 games, the contract with MLSE, as PA announcer for the Leafs at ACC, won’t be renewed for 2016-17. Cool with me!”
