RIDE spot check nabs driver from Hamilton for impaired driving

On February 11, 2017 just before noon., Grey County OPP was conducting a RIDE program on Sykes Street in Meaford which resulted in the arrest of a driver for having a blood/alcohol content over 80 mgs.

The 24-year old driver of Hamilton, Ontario drove his pick-up truck into the RIDE program on Sykes Street.  A road side breath test was administered after it was determined that he had been drinking alcohol.  After a registering a “fail”, further breath tests were conducted at the Chatsworth OPP Detachment.  As a result, the driver was charged with over 80 mg.

A court date of March 2, 2017 was scheduled in Owen Sound.
