On March 17, 2017 at 4:15 p.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a black Chrysler 200 vehicle northbound on Hwy. 6 in the Township of Chatsworth. The concerned citizen, an off-duty police officer, called the OPP after the vehicle was observed being driven erratically on the highway.
Police located the suspect vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the road on Hwy. 6. The driver, who was standing next to the vehicle, had been drinking alcohol. After registering a “fail” on the roadside Approved Screening Device, the driver was arrested and brought to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for further breath tests. The driver’s blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.
A 45-year old female of Owen Sound, was charged with impaired driving and over 80 mgs.
She is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound Court on April 6, 2017.
