OPP Remind Operators To Secure Their Vehicles

MIDLAND, ON – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the OPP would like to remind all vehicle, vessel and ATV operators and owners to take a moment and make best efforts at securing your property prior to parking/mooring and leaving it.

 

Since the start of July 2018 officers have been dispatched to residences on the following streets to investigate a stolen motor vehicle complaint-

 

Woodlands Avenue, Tiny Township – July 2, 2018

Manly Avenue, Midland – July 3, 2018

Coutnac Crescent, Tiny Township – July 12, 2018

Montreal Street, Midland- July 16, 2018

Everton Drive, Midland – July 17, 2018

Bayshore Drive, Midland – July 28, 2018

Johnson Street ,Midland – July 30, 2018

Galloway Boulevard, Midland – August 7,2018

Champlain Road , Tiny Township – August 8,2018

Couchiching Crescent, Tiny Township – August 8,2018

 

Officers have also attended the following streets to investigate ATV thefts

Woodlands Avenue, Tiny Township – July 2, 2018

Second Avenue, Tay Township – July 15, 2018

Honey Harbour Road, Georgian Bay Township – July 19, 2018

Park Street, Tay Township – July 24, 2018

 

and the following streets for vessel theft reports

Honey Harbour Road, Georgian Bay Township – July 4, 2018

Overhead Bridge Road, Tiny Township – July 7, 2018

 

Investigators note that in a large number of these reports that owners/operators failed to secure the vehicle prior to leaving them or had their vehicle keys stolen that had been left in them prior to the theft of the vehicle.
