Huronia West OPP are thankful a situation involving a driver under the influence of alcohol didn’t end up a lot worse after he was stopped for speeding in Elmvale Thursday night.
Just prior to midnight on October 5, 2017 an officer was monitoring traffic on County Road #92 when he noticed a car travelling well above the speed limit, clocking it at 183 km/h in the 80 km/h zone.
When the vehicle was finally stopped in Elmvale, Police immediately realized that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
This man chose to drink and drive and significantly exceed the posted speed limit. As a result, the 29-year old Tiny Township man had his driver’s licence suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days with an “Alcohol Warning” on his record. He has a future court date to answer to his charge of “Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed.”
