Minor Collision On Hwy 400 In Tay Leads Police To Impaired Driver

The OPP received a report of a disabled vehicle last Friday, just before 4:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 400 in Tay Township area. Police responded to the tip from the public and located the pick up truck.

The pick up truck had significant damage to the left side after coming into contact with the guard rail along side the highway. Police discovered that the male had signs of having consumed alcoholic beverages. The investigation continued back at Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment resulting in the following.

A 52-year-old male of Chelmsford has been charged with

  • Driving While Ability Impaired
  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions

His will appear in Midland Court in two weeks to answer to the charges.
