This week, the Municipality of Meaford and local emergency response agencies will be taking part in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Exercise ARDENT DEFENDER 2018. This exercise is an Explosive Ordnance Disposal exercise, the largest counter-explosive threat training ever to take place in Canada. The full CAF exercise is set through October 19th, between Canadian Forces Base Borden and 4th Canadian Division Training Centre Meaford. A new element for this year’s exercise is a two-day scenario that will take place within the community of Meaford. The intent is to give municipal staff, police and first responders an opportunity to work together with the CAF in a realistic training environment. The two-day scenario is set to take place (Wednesday, October 10th) and tomorrow (Thursday, October 11th). (Source: Municipality of Meaford)
