Netflix is giving Ontario cottage country dwellers an entertainment fix over holiday weekends this summer. The streaming video operator says it’s opening several temporary “download zones” that allow viewers to refill their mobile devices with fresh TV series and films. It begins this weekend with a Wi-Fi hotspot at Bass Pro Shop at Vaughan Mills on Friday and the Farmers Market in Collingwood, both Saturday and Sunday. Bring children to the OPP Museum Friday, May 19th from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm to help celebrate Police Week. During those hours Friends of The OPP Museum will be setting up special “drop in” activity tables for Parents and Kids.  Special Guest for the day will be Provincial Constable Martin Hill, Community Safety Officer for Orillia who will be present from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon to meet with all children. All children visiting The OPP Museum on this day will also be eligible for a free draw of an OPP stuffed dog toy, compliments of the Friends of The OPP Museum. The General Headquarters is located at 777 Memorial Avenue in Orillia. Note: One table will be set up for colouring of supplied art work. Another table will let children help make OPP buttons of their choice. Finally, a special “try on a uniform” activity will be set up for all those kids wanting to dress up in a regular OPP police uniform. In NHL playoffs, the Ottawa Senators broke out with four goals in a first period onslaught that saw them cruise to a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins last night. The win gives Ottawa a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Final.

Tonight, the Western Final continues with the Nashville Predators are at home to the Anaheim Ducks . Game time; 8:00pm as Nashville has a 2-1 series lead.

And baseball action… the Atlanta Braves held on for an 8-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays last night.
