The Town of Collingwood’s Parks, Recreation, and Culture Department is seeking input for the first phase of designing a new playground facility at Sunset Point Park. Residents and Park Users are encouraged to provide feedback by Friday, March 22nd by a survey, which can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PXPZMR3. The current 2.33 hectare playground at Sunset Point Park, known as EnviroPark, was constructed in 1993. The playground was originally built out of wood and concrete, and designed around the theme of water protection and the environment. Park features, including the sand surfacing, do not meet current accessibility standards. After 26 years of community use, this playground now requires replacement that will, create an inclusive and accessible area for active play, supporting healthy development for children across the community.

Sports:

In the NHL, the Leafs didn’t quit in the third period last night. In fact, the final frame in their loss to the Chicago Blackhawks was the best Toronto played all game. The problem was it took overcoming an atrocious first period for Toronto to reach their close 5-4 loss.
Kenny Agostino, Damon Severson and Kevin Rooney each had a goal and an assist as New Jersey snapped a season-high losing streak with a 6-3 victory over Edmonton. Oilers star Connor McDavid’s two assists in the loss increased his season points total to 100. He has now reached at least 100 points in three consecutive seasons.
Tyler Motte scored two goals in 11 seconds to lead Vancouver to a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Tonight, the New York Islanders are at home to Montreal (7:00 pm), St. Louis travels to Ottawa (7:30 pm) and Boston is on the road to Winnipeg (8:00 pm)
