Police continue to appeal for help locating a missing man in the Mono area. On the night of June 8th, Grey Highlands OPP received a report of a missing person, 24-year-old Douglas Ardis of Grey High-lands who was last seen June 6th around 9 a.m. on Side Road 30 in Mono. He is described as 5’8″, 195 lbs with short, light brown hair that is pulled back on top. Pictured on our facebook and website pages, he has hazel eyes and wears prescription glasses. Douglas was last seen wearing a dark blue baseball cap, brown blundstone work boots and blue jeans and may have been wearing a dark Tough Duck jacket. He drives a silver super cab Ford F150 pick-up truck with the license plate number AW25234. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Georgian College is hosting a series of three events to support incoming mature students by offering one-on-one help, after work hours. “Get Help to Go Back” offers an opportunity to connect with college admissions, financial aid and recruitment staff. Participants can get help with college applications, financial aid requests, program research, and more. Anyone interested in taking part should RSVP online, to ensure adequate staffing. “Get Help to Go Back” will take place at the Barrie, Orillia, Owen Sound, Orangeville and South Georgian Bay campuses, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19th, July 17th and Aug. 14th. For each event, the first 20 people (across all participating campuses) to apply for college will receive a voucher to cover their application fee.
