Grey County OPP is investigating after a credit card, along with several items were stolen from a vehicle on Concession 3 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Sometime between 6:00 a.m. and about 1:40 pm, July 6th, entry was made into the victim’s garage keys and wallet containing various identi-fication, credit cards and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken from a vehicle. Investigation revealed that a credit card was used to purchase fuel in Teeswater later the same day. Georgian College is hosting a series of events to support interested mature students by offering one-on-one help, after work hours. It’s called “Get Help to Go Back” and the events offer an opportunity to connect with college admissions, financial aid, recruitment staff, program research and more. Anyone interested in taking part, should RSVP online, to ensure adequate staffing. “Get Help to Go Back” will take place at the Barrie, Orillia, Owen Sound, Orangeville and South Georgian Bay campuses, from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 17th and August 14th. The July event at the Barrie Campus will feature a special session with Financial Aid Officers for anyone who needs help with their OSAP application. When you RSVP for July lth, select “yes” when asked whether you want to sign up for help with OSAP. You will receive an email from the financial aid team telling you how to prepare for the session. At each event, Georgian will cover the application fee for the first 20 people (across all participating campuses) who apply for college. Participants are welcome to bring family and friends. FIFA World Cup action, France advanced to the World Cup final for the first time since 2006 with a 1-0 win over Belgium yesterday. France, the 1998 champion and 2006 runner-up, will play either Croatia or England in Sunday’s final in Moscow as this afternoon England will take on Croatia at 2 pm.

Boston doubled the Texas Rangers 8-4 with their 8th straight win.
A seven-run Cincinnati ninth inning saw the Reds overcome Cleveland 7-4.
Milwaukee won for the seventh time in nine games with an 8-4 defeat of Miami.
Philadelphia beat the New York Mets 7-3.
And five Tampa Bay pitchers combined to five-hit Detroit in a 5-2 win, their 13th in 14 home games.
