Meaford resident Paul Vickers yesterday announced his intention to seek the Conservative nomination in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. Vickers recently ran successfully in his first election to win a seat on the Municipality of Meaford Council in November 2018. Vickers had no intentions of running federally in the seat long-held by MP Larry Miller until Miller announced his retirement last month. Vickers has been engaged locally with the Conservatives for the past three years as a Director with the Conservative Riding Association for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound

Collingwood and the Blue Mountains OPP are seeking assistance in locating a missing man last seen at the First Street Tim Hortons in Collingwood, Monday. Cole Anderson is 58 years-old and is described as 6′ tall and 180lbs. He has glasses and is missing his front teeth. He regularly frequents the Tim Hortons coffee shop on First Street in Collingwood. Police and family members are concerned for his well-being. Police are asking that anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Collingwood/The Blue Mountains O.P.P. at (705) 445-4321

In the NHL, Brendan Gallagher scored twice and added an assist as the Montreal Canadiens easily defeated the slumping Anaheim Ducks 4-1 last night.
A short-handed goal 2:49 into overtime led San Jose to a 3-2 victory over Winnipeg.
Chicago scored four goals in under three minutes during the third period to defeat Edmonton 6-2.
And Washington beat Vancouver 3-2.
Tonight, only two games with Ottawa at Toronto (7:30 pm) and the New York Rangers are at home to Boston (8:00 pm)
