That’s the focus of a new, part-time Georgian College course, aimed at first responders and others working in occupations where they may be exposed to trauma – or have already experienced trauma. Georgian College is collaborating with the Simcoe Trauma Recovery Clinic to provide a Trauma Awareness Skills course. Typical occupations include paramedics, police, security officers, nurses, firefighters, social workers, military members, counsellors and others who may experience trauma in their professional lives. The course runs May 27th and May 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Barrie Campus. To register, visit GeorgianCollege.ca/parttimestudies or call 705-722-5149. (Source: Georgian College)
