The Meaford Market Square parking lot is closed until 8:00 pm tonight (Monday, September 16th) to accommodate the Tour to Yesteryear antique car tour. Alternate downtown parking is available off of Nelson Street and Trowbridge Street in Municipal lots.

A little rain didn’t dampen the spirits of runners, walkers, strollers, and cyclers who participated in this year’s Terry Fox Run. The Collingwood event took place at Harbourview Park Sunday at 10 am. At latest count, the event had brought in $35,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. The local event has raised more than $250,000 through the annual runs since they began.

Sept. 11th at about noon, members of the Huronia West Detachment of the OPP responded to a 911 call for a robbery at EB Games in Wasaga Beach. Police are looking for an unknown male described as dark skin, about 5’10” to 6′ in his late teens to early 20’s, slender build, wearing a long-sleeved grey shirt, ripped jeans and white shoes dark ball cap with white logo who was last seen exiting the front door of the store into the parking lot across from the Wasaga Beach Dollar Tree carrying several large white bags filled with several gaming systems. For one week, from Sept. 16 – 22, restaurant owners donate the full $1 from every freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie purchased to support charities in their community.
