Nominations are now open for this year’s Order and Companion to the Order of Collingwood. The annual award seeks to recognize volunteerism within the community, on individuals improving social, well-being, natural or cultural environment, or recreational character of the town of Collingwood. Nominees do not need to be a Collingwood resident for the Order but must volunteer within the town with a primary benefit of the Collingwood community continuously over two years or more (except for youth volunteers) and not have been paid for their participation or service. Nomination forms can be picked up at the town hall office or on the town website. The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 1st at 4:30 pm.

October 2nd at 12:10 pm, Grey Bruce OPP were called to Main Street East in Dundalk for a 19-year-old male who had fallen from a height, while in a work truck. Grey County Paramedics responded to the incident. The male was found with vital signs absent and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification of the deceased is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
