The local lottery in support of The Meaford Hospital Foundation continues to raise funds for the capital equipment needs of The Meaford Hospital. There are 5 draws for 25 individually awarded prizes occurring bi-weekly with the final grand prizes being awarded on December 11th. Georgian College has announced two new degrees beginning in fall 2020. The first is an Honours Bachelor of Counselling Psychology. It’s the first undergraduate psychology degree of its kind in Canada, giving students the theoretical background while also providing the opportunity to learn and practice counselling techniques. The program will be offered at Georgian’s Orillia Campus. The second is an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Management, offered at the Barrie Campus. Both programs include the hands-on learning Georgian is known for. There are several ways to learn about all Georgian programs. In the NHL, Jonathan Drouin scored the only goal of the shootout as the Montreal Canadiens got past the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 last night.
Colorado defeated Winnipeg 4-0 for their third straight victory.
Vancouver ended a four-game winless streak with a 5-3 win over Nashville.
San Jose downed Edmonton 6-3.
Tonight, Ottawa is at New Jersey, the New York Islanders are at home to Toronto (both 7:00 pm), and Dallas is on the road to Calgary (9:30 pm)

In tennis, Roger Federer got back on track at the ATP Finals, beating Matteo Berrettini 7-6 (2), 6-3, Tuesday for his first victory of the round-robin stage.
Dominika Cibulkova says she has retired from tennis. The 30-year-old Slovak, who reached the 2014 Australian Open final and won the WTA Finals in 2016, announced her retirement, Tuesday.

In the NBA, the Toronto Raptors, are still on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight.; game time 10:00 pm.

In baseball, Rocco Baldelli of the Minnesota Twins has been named American League Manager of the Year. Mike Shildt of the St. Louis Cardinals won National League Manager of the Year.
