On March 11, 2017, a few minutes before 1 a.m., Grey County OPP conducted a RIDE program in the area of Hwy. 6 & 21 on the Sunset Strip in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Of the 34 vehicles checked, four roadside breath tests were conducted resulting in two, 3-day “warn” range driver’s licence suspensions. Police also issued three Provincial Offence Notices under the Liquor Licence Act.
Grey County OPP remind motorists that any amount of alcohol or drug can impair your ability to drive and should you be stopped by police, and register a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) in the “warn” range of .05 to .08, you could face an immediate driver’s licence suspension.
Drivers and residents alike are urged to call 9-1-1 if they suspect someone is driving, or is about to drive, while impaired by alcohol or drug.
