Netflix has won the battle for a multimillion-dollar, multi-year overall deal with “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the streaming platform has confirmed. The deal is a multi-year agreement to write, produce and direct new TV series and films exclusively at Netflix.

Wesley Snipes is the latest to join the cast of Paramount’s forthcoming Coming to America sequel. Craig Brewer is set to direct the follow up to the 1988 comedy classic written by Kenya Barris. Murphy is set to reprise his role as Akeem, the pampered African prince who traveled to Queens to go undercover and find a strong-willed woman he could respect. Arsenio Hall will also return as Akeem’s BFF Semmi.

Disney has found massive success in re-imagining its classic properties and is now looking to do the same with 20th Century Fox’s library following its $71.3 billion acquisition of most of the Fox empire. CEO Bob Iger has revealed that Fox properties ‘Night at the Museum’, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’, ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ would be rebooted for the studio’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+.
