Run The Blue Mountains Community Event, October 20th:
· The Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club is delighted to host Run Blue Mountains in partnership with Events for Life and Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre on Sunday, October 20th.
· Choose a 1K walk/run, 5K, 10K or the challenging 21K half marathon through the vibrant villages of Thornbury, Clarksburg and the beautiful Beaver Valley.
· Meet at the Beaver Valley Community Centre at 8:45 when Opening Ceremonies take place. 9 am start for 1K 9:30 for 21K, 10K, 5K.
· Event proceeds will directly support each charitable organization’s programming needs. Events For Life enriches the lives of individuals with special needs by providing educational, social and recreational day programs geared towards lifelong learning.

World Food Day Concert, October 20th:
· The Knox Presbyterian Church on Grey Road 7 in Meaford is holding a World Food Day Concert, Sunday, October 20th at 2 pm.
· Paul Williamson will perform a tribute to Stompin’ Tom and Oliva & Makenzy Williamson will also be on hand with a performance sure to delight.
· There is no admission charge but a free will offering will be collected and all funds raised will go to Canadian Foodgrains Bank’s to help end global hunger.

An Evening With The Cowboy Junkies, October 24th:
· On tour to present their new album, All That Reckoning, Cowboy Junkies once again gently shakes the listener to wake up as they did with the powerful 1988 album, The Trinity Sessions.
· Formed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar, Margo Timmins on vocals, Peter Timmins on drums, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass, the band has sparkled over the course of 25 album.

Meaford Curling Club, October 27th and November 3rd:
· The Meaford Curling Club is warming up for another winter season and looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and, they hope, some new members too. The Club is accepting registrations with online registration is available.
· As well, the Meaford Curling Club offers two Introductory Curling Clinics each year
· This year’s sessions are set for October 27 and November 3 from 1 to 3 pm.
· Both beginning and returning curlers are invited to attend and refresh their skills. Club members will be on hand to assist and refresh your curling techniques.
· There is a junior After School Program, Monday afternoons for a nominal fee of $50 for six weeks.
