Driver From Tay Township Charged With Impaired Driving After Collision On Hwy 12

On Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 9:16 pm Southern Georgian Bay OPP  were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 12 between Newton and Park Streets. Police were assisted by members of the Tay Township Fire Service and Simcoe County Paramedic Service as the two occupants were located and assessed for their injuries at the scene. The OPP investigator began conducting a drinking and driving investigation after speaking with the female driver who was then transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital for treatment of her injuries sustained in the crash.


As a result of the investigation the 51 year old of Tay Township has been charged with the following offences;

  • Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) 
  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood 


As a result of the charges, her vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 7 days, as well as her license was suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Driver’s License Suspension. She was released on a promise to appear in Midland court on May 31, 2018.
