Driver Gives False ID to Police, Faces Long List of Charges

On May 14, 2017 a couple of minutes before 2 p.m., Grey County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Southgate Sideroad 71 in Southgate. The vehicle was registered to a Southgate man who was suspended from driving.

Once stopped, Police found that the driver was a female party who was accompanied by a male passenger. The driver provided the officer with verbal identification only, stating she couldn’t produce any documentation for herself nor the vehicle.

After further investigation, it was found that the driver had provided the officer with a false name. Her true identity was established.

The 56-year old female of Southgate was arrested and held for a bail hearing scheduled for May 15, 2017, on the following charges:

– Obstruct Peace Officer

– Driving While Disqualified

– Driving While Under Suspension

– Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle

–  Obstruct Plate

– Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
