A 43-year old Grey Highlands man made a phone call while driving that ended up costing him far more than just the distracted driving charge for which Police initially pulled him over on Friday afternoon.
Grey County OPP stopped the man just after 4 p.m. on September 8, 2017 after he was seen talking on a cell phone while driving on Elizabeth Street in Grey Highlands. Once stopped, the officer determined that he had been drinking alcohol and also that his license had been suspended driver for unpaid fines.
As a result, the driver was charged with Drive with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood; Driving While Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle on a Highway While Using a Hand Held Wireless Communication Device.
He was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on October 5, 2017.
