Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the OPP charged two motorists over the course of the weekend with drinking and driving offences.
The first incident took place at 11 p.m. on July 15, 2017 when an officer on patrol conducted a vehicle stop on Gun Club Road in Collingwood. Interactions with the driver found that she was under the influence of alcohol which led to her arrest and transport to detachment for processing.
A 74-year-old woman from Collingwood is charged with driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. She is to appear in court in Collingwood on August 1, 2017.
The second case took place at approximately 9 a.m. on July 16, 2017. Police were called to a possible impaired driver in the area of Swiss Meadows and Grey Road 119 in The Blue Mountains. Police conducted a vehicle stop where the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to detachment for processing.
Charged is 32-year-old Cambridge man, who is charged with having care or control (80 milligrams) and is to appear in an Owen Sound court on August 8, 2017.
