Grey County OPP received a 911 call from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver minutes before the driver in question got stuck in a ditch on March 4, leading to an impairment charge for a Midland woman.
The witness saw the car being driven erratically westbound on Highway 26 in Meaford at about 7:35 p.m. The car was off the roadway a few minutes later, stuck in the north ditch due to snow, and the witness stopped to assist the driver, who was not injured. Police came on the scene and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. After failing a roadside screening test, OPP brought the driver for breath tests, which she also failed.
Tara Lee Corbier, 34, of Midland was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 14.
